JOHN P. VANDEUSEN was
born in Columbia county, New York, in 1844, and enlisted as a farmer from
Tazewell county, Illinois. He served through the Kentucky campaign, but was
taken sick at Nashville, Tenn., and was sent to the hospital, where he died
March 3, 1863. His remains are buried at No. 673 in the national cemetery near
Nashville, Tenn.
