John Brophy, farmer, deceased, was a native of Ireland, settled
in this township in an early day, and died in 1870, after accumulating
considerable property by years of toil. He owned 320 acres of land. He
married Mary Walder, and their children were James, William, John,
Catherine, Thomas, Michael and Francis. Mrs. Brophy was a native of New
York, but her parents were from Ireland.
