Jesse Danner, agriculturist, is a native of Pennsylvania, where
he was born in 1812; received a liberal education; brought up a farmer,
then followed the occupation of carpenter; while residing there he was
united in marriage to Miss Sarah Lipe, by whom he had 5 children, -
John, Martha, Jacob, Barbara and Henry. In 1834 Mr. D. removed to Ohio
where he became employed in a distillery for a period of 3 years; then
he returned to Pennsylvania, where he followed farming until 1850, when
he settled in this township, purchasing 160 acres of land; to-day he
owns over 400 acres and a handsome residence. Mrs. D. died July 24,
1844. In 1845 Mr. D. united his fortunes to Miss Elizabeth Hohf, who
whom he had 7 children: 4 of them are living.
