John Farr, farmer and stock-raiser, sec. 10; P. O.,
Vermont. John Farr, as well as others who bear the same name, are
well known to the people of this community, where they have resided for
many years. John is the second son of Cooper and Edith Farr, and
was born on the old farm homestead in Astoria township, July 23,
1842. Growing up amid pioneer associations he received a good
common-school education. In 1863 he was united in marriage with
Miss P. Kane, daughter of Jesse Kane, a native of Ohio. Belle B.
and Cooper are their two children.
