Solomon D. Hamm settled in Fulton county in 1854, and after the
lapse of a quarter of a century he is the owner of over 500 acres of
valuable land and takes a leading position among the wealthy farmers of
this county. He was born in York county, Pa., Feb. 8, 1833; worked as a
carpenter, and in 1856, after his arrival in this county, he was united
in marriage to Miss Sarah Wolf, daughter of Peter Wolf, of
Pennsylvania, by whom he has 10 children, - Rebecca, Jacob H., Ellen
N., Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary, Lucy, Anna, Jessie C. and John W.
