Levi Horton, Justice of the Peace and farmer, is well known to
the farmers and business men of this section; was born in the year
1818; his father, David Horton, was a pensioner and soldier during the
year of 1812. He united his fortunes with Mrs. Margaret Sapp. 6
children blessed the union of David and Margaret Horton, 3 of whom now
survive. Levi, the elder, married in Ohio Miss Caroline Darling, who
bore him 5 children; 2 survive, David and Jennie. The subject of this
sketch settled in Fulton Co. in 1839, and settled permanently in 1851;
has been a successful farmer, and has held the offices of Supervisor,
Town Clerk, Road Commissioner, etc.
