Isaac Myers, farmer, sec. 36; P. O., Astoria. Among the substantial farmers of Astoria township the name of Isaac Myers must not be overlooked. A native of Pennsylvania, he was born in 1841; at the age of 18 he was apprenticed to learn the trades of stone-mason and brick-layer, and for some time taught school. During the war he enlisted in Uncle Sam's service in the State Militia for some months. Mr. M. came to Whiteside Co., Ill., where he remained for a time and then moved to this county. He was united in marriage with Miss Hester, daughter of John Burgard. Three of the 6 children born to them are living, - Mary C., Callie and Joseph.
