Henry Pavey, hardware merchant, Ipava, is a native of the
English Isle and was born Feb. 15, 1820. He followed the occupation of
farming until he was 27 years of age when he learned the carpenter’s
trade, and which he followed at intervals until 1865, when he embarked
in the hardware business at Ipava. For a time he was engaged in the
manufacture of steam engines. He was united in marriage with Mary
Tratt, who was also born in England. They have a family of 2 children:
Sarah A. and Alice M.
