Hiram A. Pickering, farmer, sec. 15; P. O., Vermont; was born in
Harrison Co., O., in 1836, son of Hiram Pickering, a native of the Old
Dominion, who moved to Ohio in early day and married Helena McNamee.
Hiram grew to manhood in Ohio and married Miss Mary Ann, daughter of
Abel Pickering, of Va. In April, 1860, he came and settled in Farmers’
tp.; in 1852 he removed to Vermont tp. His children are Susannah, Elva,
Cordelia, Flora, Franklin, Oscar and Ellen.
