Thomas Reed, farmer, sec. 32; P. O., Astoria; was born in
Pennsylvania in 1817; his father, John M. Reed, was born in Beaver Co.,
Pa., a farmer, who married Mary Hinds; they had 8 children; Thomas, the
fifth, grew to manhood in Coshocton Co., O., where the family afterward
removed. In 1843 Mr. R. moved to Illinois and first located in
Schuyler Co., where he married, his wife died April 27, '77. Mr. Reed
now owns 160 acres of land.
