Elias Ring was born in Chester Co., Penn., in 1831, where he
received a liberal education and resided the greater portion of his
life in Vermont tp.; in 1872 he married Mattie M., daughter of Henry
Bailey, of Belmont Co., O.; in 1873 he purchased the town property he
now owns, including the millinery establishment presided over by Mrs.
Ring, and the wagon shops of Adams & Sexton, and he rents also the
photograph gallery of Samuel Murphy. Mrs. R.’s millinery business is
unequaled in Vermont.
