Joseph Smith, M. D., sec. 35, Bernadotte tp.; P. O., Duncan's
Mills; was born in Harrison Co., Ohio, Nov. 3, 1831; in 1851 he settled
in McDonough Co., and removed to this county where he has since
resided; was educated at Cincinnati and Barnesville, Ohio; married July
18th, 1852, to Miss Mary A. Brown, of Ohio: of their nine children six
are living. Both the Doctor and his lady are members of the Christian
church. Republican.
