Wm. Thompson, agriculturist; was born in McDonough county, Ill.,
in 1843; while quite small his parents, Wakeman and Elizabeth Thompson,
located in Schuyler county, where he received a liberal education from
his earliest years. Mr. Thompson has followed farming, trading,
displaying the usual Yankee ingenuity and shrewdness; born amid pioneer
surroundings, his life has not been marked by any stirring events.
While a resident of Schuyler Mr. T. held several offices of local note
as Constable and Deputy Sheriff. In 1867 Mr. Thompson was united in
marriage, in Fulton county, to Mary Wilson, daughter of Charles Wilson,
of Ohio, who died many years ago, leaving 1 child, Corda, born in
Fulton county.
