Robert Tratt, of Pavey & Tratt, dealers in hardware, Ipava.
Mr. T. was born in England in May, 1836, and crossed the Atlantic for
America in 1851, and first stopped in New York, where he remained till
1857, and in 1863 located in Ipava and engaged in the hardware trade,
and at present carries $6,000 worth of stock. May 16, ’66, he was
married to Carrie E. Stafford, who is a native of England, having been
born in that country in 1846. There have been 2 children born to them,
John W., deceased, and Freddie. Mr. T. has been President of the Town
Board and held other local offices.
