Josiah Zoll, farmer, was born in Jefferson Co., O., in 1810, son
of Peter Zoll, a native of Maryland; his mother’s maiden name was
Catharine Winterbaker. He learned and followed the tanner’s trade. In
1832 he married Ruth Crothers, and two years later he came and settled
in this tp. Here he toiled through many a tedious year, but with great
success, as he is now able to take up his residence in town and enjoy
for the remainder of his days the fruits of his labor.
