William Bluford Johnson, born in Flannigan Township, Hamilton County, IL, William Bluford (W.B.) married Irna Webb of northern Franklin County. They had two sons, William Webb Johnson and Walter Carlton Johnson. W. B. was an attorney in Benton, IL. He and his law partner, Thomas Layman had a fifty year law practice in Benton.

William Webb was a County Judge and later, Circuit Court Judge in Benton for over 20 years.
W. B. was the son of Charles Marion & Elizabeth Thompson Johnson. Charles was the son of George Washington Johnson who was the son of Robert Johnson. Robert was the son of John Johnson, a Revolutionary War soldier buried at Little Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Hamilton Co, IL
