Alberta Tennyson, 97, of McLeansboro died 7:02 a.m. Sept. 29, 2004, at her residence. She was a homemaker and former school teacher.
Mrs. Tennyson was born July 4, 1907, in McLeansboro to Albert and Mabel (Todd) Mitchell. She married Everett Tennyson Dec. 23, 1938, in McLeansboro; he died April 4, 1996.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 2 at Blooming Grove Baptist Church near McLeansboro. The Rev. Leland Widick officiated. Burial followed at Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Thurs Oct 1 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro and from noon until the funeral time Friday at Blooming Grove Baptist Church near McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tennyson is survived by a son, Everett Ray Tennyson and wife Jacquelyn of Custer Park; a daughter, Barbara Ann Barbish of McLeansboro; four grandchildren, Brenda Harper of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Pamela Tennyson of Columbus, Ohio, Cindy Sporleder and husband Anthony of Mendota and Sonja Rose and husband Danny of Springerton; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Lester St. Clair of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter and a sister.

Madeline Tolley, 91, of McLeansboro died 1:09 a.m. Oct. 14, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She worked several years at the former Decatur Garment Co. in McLeansboro and also worked as a sales clerk.
Mrs. Tolley was born June 2, 1913, in Delafield to Marshall E. and Della Mattie (Yoder) Cross. She married the Rev. Elvis W. Tolley Dec. 9, 1930; he died in 1963.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 17 at Delafield Missionary Baptist Church. The Revs. John Lee Jr. and Robert Deitz Officiated. Burial followed at Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. The body lied in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the service. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct 16th at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tolley is survived by a son, Ronald Tolley and wife Sue of Hinesville, Ga.; three granddaughters, Lora Peppard and husband Jonathan of Johnson City, N.Y., Julia LeSage and husband Garrett of Boston, Mass., and Rachel Wood and husband Lyle of Johnson City, Tenn; and brothers and sisters Merville Cross of Waterloo, Iowa, Ellis Cross of Waterloo, Iowa, Charles Cross of Waterloo, Iowa, Harold E. Cross of McLeansboro, Louella Bergmier of Angola, Ind., Maxine Carr of Waterloo, Iowa, Georgia Nickerson of Richmond, Va., and Shirley Merritt of Lobi, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Eugene Cross; and an infant brother, Ivan Cross. Mrs. Tolley was a member of Delafield Baptist Church.

Maxine M. Tolley
Maxine M. Tolley, 90, of Urbana and formerly of McLeansboro died 5:10 a.m. July 16, 2006, at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana. She worked many years as a garment finisher at the former Elder Manufacturing Co. in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tolley was born June 23, 1916, in Danville to Herman and Hazel (Black) Schwartz. She married Omer Ralph Tolley in 1933 in Mt. Vernon; he preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday July 18 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. John Lee Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation was after 1 p.m. Tuesday July 18 until the service time at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Tolley is survived by two sons, Larry Tolley and wife Carol of St. Joseph and Eddie Tolley and wife Rethea of Sidney; a daughter, Kathryn Byrd and husband John of Val Rico, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Tolley of Milan; a sister, Doris Newful of Michigan City, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, Roxanne Tolley, Randy Tolley, Rodney Tolley, Michael Tolley, Steven Tolley, Tammy Wurl, Richard Tolley, Kathryn Tolley, Rick McDade and Cheryle Byrd; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Randall Tolley; two brothers, Dean Bruce and Hubert "Bud" Bruce Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Koczur and Betty Bibb; and a brother-in-law, George Newful.

Jemimah Ann Trammel
AN OLD CITIZEN GONE
Jemimah Ann Trammel, daughter of Fields and Elizabeth Trammel, was born December 25, 1842; was married to Samuel D. Oneal, January 1, 1865. To this union was three children, Mary J., Will and Joe. Her husband died July 4, 1875. She was then united in marriage to Christopher Jamerson, June 16, 1877. To this union was born three children, Ida Belle, George L. and Milton. She received a good education and taught school. She was converted at the age of about 18 years and joined the Methodist church at Cherry Grove. She later joined the Baptist church at Smith's Chapel, where she was a member until death. She was the last one of 10 children. For some years she has been blind and almost an invalid, yet she always cheerful and never complained. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Bolerjack, where she received the best of attention, often saying they were so good to her. Her sickness was of short duration. Yet all was done that loving hands could do, yet God who knows best has taken her home, February 5, 1922, at the ripe age of 79 years, 1 month and 11 days. She leaves to mourn their loss, 4 sons, 1 daughter, 1 step so, Bill Jamerson, 1 step daughter, Mrs. Florence Moore, 30 grandchildren, 6 great grand children and a host of relatives and friends.
