Opal Atkinson

Opal Atkinson, 89, of Mitchellsville died Saturday, February 10, 2007, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born on December 17, 1917, in Hardin County, to Marion and Anna Tolbert Joyner.

She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Watson and Darlene Tolbert, both of Harrisburg; sister, Sylvia Herron of Eddyville; one granddaughter; eight grandsons; several great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Oscar Pyles and Paul Atkinson; two sisters, Margaret Davis and Marie Chambers; three brothers, James "Buck" Joyner, Leonard Joyner and Garfield Joyner.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville.  Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery, Stonefort.
