Freda Baker

Freda Herl Baker, 97, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Rosiclare Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was a member and officer of St. Ann's Altar Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church, an officer of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of Home Extension and Homemakers organizations, and an officer of the St. Joseph Parish Council.

Survivors include a nephew, Herl (Suzanne) Young, Metairie, LA; and a niece, Georgia Young (Charles G.) Moore, also of Metairie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian Earhardt and Nora O'Hare Herl; her husband, Paul Baker; a brother, S.E. Herl, Jr. and a sister, Marie Young.

Visitation will be held today (Thursday), 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Hosick Funeral Home, Rosiclare, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.  Mass will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church officiated by Father Ignatius Okonkwo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, Hospice of Southern Illinois-Belleville, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
