(Pell) Crawford
Kathryn
(Pell) Crawford, of Evansville, passed away
Thursday, January 5, 2006, at her home.
Born
in Rosiclare, Illinois, Kathryn graduated from
high school in Rosiclare. She received
her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois
University and her master's from the
University of Evansville.
Kathryn
retired from the Evansville-Vanderburgh School
Corporation, having taught at Fairlawn School.
She previously taught at McKinley School in
Harrisburg, Illinois, and at Rosiclare
Elementary in Rosiclare.
She
was a 50-year member of the Methodist Temple
and a member of Miriam Fellowship and the
Crusaders Sunday School class. Kathryn
was a board member of the Goodwill Auxiliary,
a member of the American Association of
University Women and a member of the
Evansville Retired Teachers Association.
She is
preceded in death by her husband, Gene
Crawford; a sister, Helen Clayton; and a
brother, Webb Pell.
Kathryn
is survived by son, Charles Pell Crawford and
his wife Lillian, of Henderson, Kentucky;
daughter, Jane Glancy, and her husband,
Dennis, of Evansville; son, Alan Pell Crawford
and his wife, Sally Curran, of Richmond,
Virginia. Also surviving are her
grandchildren: Jennifer Keehan, Kelly Collier,
Scott Glancy, Patrick Glancy, Sarah Glancy,
Charles E. "Ned" Crawford and Tim
Crawford; several great-grandchildren; and a
sister, Ruth Lamar, of Cave In Rock, Illinois.
Services
will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 9, at
Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 South
Hebron Avenue, with the Reverend Robert
Coleman officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 7
p.m. on Sunday, January 8, and noon until
service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Central Standard Time
in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois.
