Margie Damron

Margie L. (Shockley) Damron, 75, of Carterville, IL., died Sunday, December 26, 2004 at Herrin Hospital.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Riggin-Pillatsch Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Finley officiating.  Graveside services were held at Dixon-Volkert Cemetery in Hardin County.

Margie was born on February 17, 1929, in Rosiclare, IL. to Clyde and Auncie (Henson) Shockley.  She married William R. Damron, Sr., on May 24, 1959 in Peoria, IL.

She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Aunice LaVon Damron of Carterville, Sheila Donaldson of Peoria, Barbara and Lloyd "Buck" Buholtz of Everett, WA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Bridgett Joiner of Radcliffe, KY, Merle and Judy Joiner of Peoria; eleven grandchildren, two special grandsons, Waylon Damron of Herrin and Elvis Damron of Harrisburg; several great-grandchildren and a special great-granddaughter, Savanna Damron of Herrin.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son. Wm. Elvis Damron.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Rosiclare.
