Genevieve
Edwards, died Wednesday following a brief
illness.
Services
10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 1990, at
Capitol Hill Christian Church with interment at
Resthaven Cemetery following.
Born
January 17, 1918 in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois, to
Edward R. and Bessie Edwards. Genevieve was
reared by Hosea and Ora Vinyard, and graduated
from Oklahoma College for Women, and with a
Master's Degree from the University of Michigan.
She taught at Jackson Junior High School and was
well known for her humorous book reviews. She
was a lifetime member of Capitol Hill Christian
Church where she served in many capacities
including board member and deaconess. Genevieve
was a long time member of numerous organizations
including Reviewer's Coterie, Zeta Phi Eta
speech sorority, Pi Zeta Kappa religious
sorority, the ''Third Thursday Sewing Club'' and
the Capitol Hill Garden Club.
She is
survived by her husband, Robert T., Jr. of the
home; brother, Robert W. Edwards and wife, Dell;
son, Robert T., III and wife, Dahl; daughter,
Linda Jewell and husband, John; grandchildren,
Geoffrey and Jennifer Luttrell and Jason, Jared
and Adam Jewell; step-grandchildren, Christopher
and Alex Dow. Other survivors include
brothers-in-law, Richard C. Luttrell and wife,
Doris, and William S. Luttrell; sister-in-law,
Virginia Goodrich; nephew, Richard C. Luttrell
and wife, Cindy; and nieces, Anne Garrett and
husband, Marc, and Abigail Luttrell; and a
special couple, Duff and Mitzi Cooke. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be ma de to the Capitol
Hill Christian Church Memorial Fund, to Phillips
University, to the Christian Church Commission
of Oklahoma, to the American Heart Association
or to any other charity. She was a beloved wife,
mother, grandmother and friend, who shared
herself and her many talents and gifts with
others and for her Lord. We will treasure her
always in our hearts.
Family
will receive friends at the funeral home Friday,
November 30, 1990, 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
