Roy C. Fritts 

Roy Clifton Fritts, youngest son of A. J. Fritts and Mary L. Presnell Fritts was born August 6, 1886 at Metropolis, Illinois; died June 7, 1944 at his home, 614 East Fifth street, age 57 years, 10 months, 1 day.

Mr. Fritts attended Metropolis schools then entered Northwestern University and graduated as a pharmacist. For more than 25 years he worked for Mr. H.J. Humma, leaving his employment there to engage in general outdoor advertising. July 22, 1911 he was married to Miss Violet Angie Ferrell who, with a sister, Miss Maude Fritts and a brother A.J. Fritts of Metropolis survive. He was a member of the First Christian church of this city. A good business man, a loyal friend, he will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the family residence, conducted by the Rev. O. L. Angel, music by the Christian church quartet, composed of Mrs. O. L. Angel, Mrs. Blanche Grace, Miss Marie Williamson, and Mrs. Helen Dugger. Casketbearers, C.E. Munal, John O’Brien, Jack McCurrie, W.P. Bunn, J. W. Elliott, Roy Trail and Lindell Sturgis. Interment in the Masonic cemetery.
