Bonnie
F. Gunderson
Bonnie
F. Gunderson, age 71, of Spring Lake, passed
away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at her son's home
in Spring Grove, Illinois after a courageous
battle with cancer.
She was
born August 25, 1935 in Cave in Rock, Illinois,
the daughter of Lowell E. and Edith A. (Rowland)
Boyd. She married Nels M. Gunderson Sr. on July
23, 1955 in Rockford, Illinois. He preceded her
in death on September 26, 2002.
Mrs.
Gunderson was an active member of the of Hope
Lutheran Church, Wautoma where she recorded
tithes. She was a member of the Mary's Circle, a
volunteer for the Orphan Grain Train and a
member of the Christian Bible Study Group. She
was an active member of the Neshkoro Lioness
Club and Wautoma Garden Club. Bonnie was a
supporter and volunteer for the EAA Fly-In.
The joy
of Bonnie's life was not only participating in
the numerous volunteer organizations she was
involved in, but also in being a grandmother to
her four grandchildren. She always put her
family first. Bonnie was blessed with many gifts
especially the heart of a servant, but her
greatest gift of all was the time she invested
in each of our lives.
She is
survived by her children, Cyndi (Mike) Coltrain,
Fort Smith, AR., Mark (Sheila) Gunderson, Spring
Grove, IL.; her grandchildren, Caitlyn Coltrain,
Fort Smith, AR., Travis Gunderson, Spring Grove,
IL., Zack Coltrain, Fort Smith, AR., Austin
Gunderson, Spring Grove, IL.; further survived
by other relatives and many friends.
In
addition to her husband, she was preceded in
death by her parents.
Funeral
services will be held on Tuesday, September 5,
2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Hope Lutheran Church,
Wautoma. Family and friends may call from 11:00
a.m. Tuesday until the time of services. In lieu
of flowers memorials to the Neshkoro Lioness
Club and Hope Lutheran Church would be
appreciated.
