Elmer Hill ELMER HILL KILLED SELF AT FARM HOUSE IN NORTHEAST PART OF COUNTY LAST WEEK Elmer Hill, one of the best known and highly respected farmers of the Northeast part of this county, shot himself to death at the farm house at early hours of last Thursday morning, Aug 13. He had a temporary fit of mental aberration. The news of the rash news received by many friends of himself and the family, with deep sorrow when the words was telephoned about passing of his life. A man of upright character held high enthusiasm by his fellow neighbors. There was no apparent reason except his mind was deteriorating. Mr. Hill, a man in the early 50's born on the farm which the family resided all his life. They raised his family, 2 sons and 1 daughter, now grown but still resides with him and his widow wife; Maggie Moore Hill. The funeral was held at Pleasant Hill's on Saturday. Interment in the cemetery. The tragedy occurred about 4 a.m., the family being awaking by a shot which ended his life when they reached him. Heart felt sympathy of the family. Source:
