William Owens Sr.

Services for William H. Owens Sr., 80, of Golconda were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.  Burial was in Elizabethtown Empire Cemetery, with military rites.

Mr. Owens died Saturday morning, April 29, 2006 at his home.

A U.S. Navy veterab of World War II, he was a retired construction worker and a member of Golconda Masonic Lodge No. 131.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Wheatcroft Owens; two sons, Gary Owens of Columbus, IN, and William Owens Jr. of Golconda; two daughters, Patsy Brooks fo Hanover, IN, and Vicky Miller of Columbus; a stepson, Larry Veach of Harrisburg; three stepdaughters, Vickey Flynn of Elizabethtown and Eilene Ginger and Debbie Dullinger, both of Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jo Ferrell; four sisters; and three brothers.  His parents were Robert Francis Owens and Maudie Pearl Bell Owens.
