Marvin
D. Shore
We
celebrate the life of Marvin D. Shore, a man of
great integrity and honor. A husband, father,
brother and friend who went to Jesus on April
16, 2004.
Marvin
is survived by his wife, Wanda, and two sons,
Michael and Christa Shore of Evansville, Ind.,
and Steve and Diane Shore of Hamilton, Ohio. His
grandchildren are Shari and Curtis Shore of
Evansville, Ind., and Lauren Crawford of
Hamilton, Ohio.
Marvin
was born on September 17, 1930, in Hardin
County, Illinois, where he was also raised. He
was the son of Denzil and Lula Shore of
Cave-In-Rock, Ill. Surviving are one brother,
Lowell Ray and Judy Shore of Sparta, Illinois,
and two sisters, Marguerite and Mug Lampert of
Karber's Ridge, Illinois, and Oma Lee and Buck
Simmons of Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Marvin was
preceded in death by his parents, a sister,
Wanda Lou Rabourn, and two brothers, Deon and
Randall Shore.
Marvin
was an active member of the First Southern
Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana, a former
deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church in Salem,
Illinois, an Air Force veteran of the Korean
War, past master of Salem Masonic Lodge No. 138,
member of Cave-In-Rock Lodge No. 444, member of
the Shriners and Scottish Rites. Marvin was a
retired meteorologist with the National Weather
Service. He was a great help to his entire
family and so many who knew him. Marvin D. Shore
will be greatly missed.
Funeral
services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April
19, 2004, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in
Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, with burial to follow in
the Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Sunday, April
18, 2004, at the funeral home. Masonic rites
will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral
home, and military rites will be given at the
cemetery on Monday.
