Marie H. Young

Marie H. Young, widow of George M. P. Young, U. S. Coast Guard Officer retired; died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at East Jefferson Hospital, Metairie, LA. 

She was the daughter of Sebastian E. and Norah O'Hare Herl of Rosiclare, Illinois and the mother of Georgia Young (Charles) Moore and Herl S. (Suzanne) Young and grandmother of Georgmarie Moore, Paul Sebastian Young and Molly Kate Young. 

Marie Young taught elementary school in Illinois, Virginia, and twenty-three years at J. C. Ellis in Metairie, LA. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Church, its Senior Citizens Club and its SALA Organization. She also held membership in the local Metairie AARP Chapter and was a resident of Metairie for 48 years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from 11 AM to 12 Noon followed by a Mass at St. Angela Merici Church with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Hedrick. Memorial services will be conducted later at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TX 38105 preferred. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
