We are under obligations to Frank BUTLER, grandson of Peter BUTLER, who lived east of Monmouth and owned the farm on which "Fort Butler" was built, many long years ago, for the following payroll of his company, which will interest old settlers:

A pay roll of Capt. Peter BUTLER'S company, organized on the 4th day of June, 1832, by order of his Excellency, Governor REYNOLDS.
