ORIGIN OF LIST: In the attic of the former Ivan Jacobs Hardware Store on South Broadway an old box filled with water-soaked, warped books was stored for many years. When Mr. Jacobs was cleaning the building, he gave this box to me. One of the dusty ledgers contained the following list.

Open collections ranged from 48 cents to $2.50 and personal donations were anywhere from $1.00 to an occasional really big gift of $25.
The pastor at this time was the Rev. James McArthur who served from Sept.1892 through March 1897. His salary varied; it could be as little as $2.25 to as high as $30 per week. In the time period from Feb. 6- March 22, 1895 he collected $95.28, but in the same period a year later it had increased to $122.04.
