John A. Johnson and Sophie Larson Are Happily Married
Mr. John A Johnson of Omaha, Neb., and Miss Sophie Larson of this city, were married Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. S. M. Larson. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Nordgren, pastor of the Swedish Lutheran church of this city, at promptly eight o'clock. Many friends and relatives of the contracting parties were present. The bridal couple came in unattended except by Miss Ryberg, who acted as flower girl. The parlors were prettily decorated in white and green. Congratulations were in order after which an elegant lap supper was served in the dining room.
The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents. Those who were present from abroad were: Messrs, and Mesdames Victor Johnson, E. T. Ericson, Eric Peterson and Mrs. Gus Halmgren and children of Kewanee. Miss Emma Nelson of Chicago and Mrs. Amanda Landstrom of Galesburg. The newly wedded couple left yesterday for ? Ia., where a reception will rendered them Saturday evening, they will be at home to their friends at their new residence in south Omaha after May 1st. Ward, Miss Adelia, of Cenesco, Henry Co., married Edmund Joslyn of Port Byron, Rock Island Co., on 5 Dec. 1866 at the Methodist Church parsonage in Rock Island. (RI Weekly Union, Wednesday, 12 Dec. 1866)
