Lela A. Bearess

BEARESS, Lela A. - Of Flint, age 95, died Monday, March 19, 2001 at Maplewood Manor in Clio.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bearess was born in Makanda, Illinois on November 6, 1905, the daughter of Volla and Sarah (Chism) Smith. She married Paul Bearess on August 19, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, also her father and mother, Volla and Sarah Smith of Makanda, Illinois; her sister, Opal Wright and nephew, Robert Fowley of Flint.

Surviving are Berneda and husband Noel Weddington of Flushing; her children, Kathy and husband Allen Buchalski of Fenton and their children, Nathan, Ryan and Meghan; sister-in-law, Beth Bearess of Flushing, Loretta and Chuck Valentine and their daughter, Barbara Hoffman.
