V. Mae Daly
V. Mae Daly, 76, of Elgin went to be with
her Lord on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph
Hospital, Elgin surrounded by family.
She was born on April 27, 1931 in Makanda,
IL the daughter of Arthur and Grace (Tripp) Roberts.
Resident of Elgin, Mae graduated from Elgin High School in
1949. She was a homemaker, and was a Girl Scout Leader of
the Sybaquay Council with her daughters. Mae had worked at
the Elgin Mental Health Care as an Administrative Secretary
retiring on April 30, 1991. She will be dearly missed. She
was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church of
Elgin. Member of Order of the Eastern Star, Bethel Chapter
#291 and later merged with Fox Valley Chapter, and held many
positions at local and state levels. She was also a member
of the Mayflower Chapter #555 in Wauconda, IL.
Survivors include her three daughters,
Marilyn (Gary) Wong of Woodstock, IL, Margaret Daly of Elgin
and Marlene (Kevin) Lindeman of Jackson, MO; her step son,
Martin Daly of Sacramento, CA; six grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren; her sister, Beulah Mauck of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, William Daly on April 29, 2007. Two sisters, Martha
Menke and Mildred Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
August 2, 2007 at 10 AM at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin
with Rev. Calvin Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow
in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on
Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home, with the Order of
the Eastern Star services at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star, Fox
Valley Chapter #265, for Cancer # 265.
