Charles Ferrill

October 17th 1943

Charles Edward Ferrill, 75, of Makanda died at the Holden Hospital Sunday afternoon following a prolonged illness.  He is the father of Mrs. Maud Morris and Mrs. Roslyn Wright of this city.

Two other daughters, Mrs. Layhunta Arnhart of Ullin and Miss Veneta Ferrill of Makanda and a son, Jim, also of Makanda survive as well as 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Makanda Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Hoffman, pastor of the Makanda Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Makanda.

The body will lie in state at the Carbondale Funeral Home until time of services.

Mr. Ferrill was born January 15, 1868 at Alto Pass.  He was a retired section foreman and had lived in Makanda almost his entire life.
