LEWIS, DOROTHY G., 75, of Makanda, IL, at home on Friday, April 18, 2003; beloved wife of the late Dr. Harry Lee Lewis, who died Jan. 17, 1999; dear mother of Jim Lewis of St. Louis and Robert Lewis of Charleston, IL; dear grandmother of David Lewis of Makanda, IL;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Francis McCue Garner; a son, John Lewis and a brother, Robert Garner.

Born Aug. 1, 1927 in Benton, IL, she was a homemaker who was an avid bridge player and gardener and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton, IL.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery, Benton, with Rev. Dale Carson. Memorials may be made to the John David Lewis Scholarship Fund, State Bank of Whittington, Benton, IL 62812. Arrangements by Poulson Funeral Home, Benton. 618-438-0021
