Peter LePere

PETER LePERE PASSES AWAY

Peter LePere, son of George J. and Miriah (should be Mariah) (Birkner) LePere was born in Jackson County, Illinois on February 27, 1867. Died in Denver, Colo. on January 24, 1954 at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 27 days.

He lived and worked in Jackson County until 1891 when he moved to Denver, Colo. He was employed by the Denver Tramway Co. on October 1, 1897,  where he worked until December 17, 1946 when he retired from active duty.

He became affiliated by card, with the United Lodge No. 4 of the I.O.O.F. March 15, 1908 and held continuous membership in this lodge until his death. He was never married.

Mr. LePere was the youngest of a family of ten. One sister, Elizabeth Weatherford, of Pinckneyville is still living. One half-sister Sophia Wiegand and five sisters; Margaret Bingle, Louisa Rosenberger, Catherine Heisner. Mary Heisner, Caroline Schwarszkopf, and two brothers; George W. and Fred LePere preceded him in death.

Services were held at the Stevens Mortuary at 17th and Ogden on January 27, by the United Lodge No. 4 I.O.O.F. Interment in Fairmount Cemetery  Denver, Colo.
