Flora J.
McLin
Flora J. McLin, 77, of Zion died on
Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Highland Park Hospital. Flora was
born August 20, 1924 in Makanda, Illinois, moving to Gurnee
in 1946 and to Zion in 1949.
She was a member of Christ Community
Church of Zion and had been employed at the Zion Cookie
Factory, the Zion Township Offices and did waitress work for
various restaurants in the Zion area.
She was also a member of the Order of
Eastern Star, Milburn Chapter, the Zion-Benton Women of the
Moose and the Socialite's of the Lodge, Lake County
Homemaker's Ben Port Unit, Zion Senior Citizens Club and the
Ladies Day Program through the Zion Park District.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, to
whom she was married to on October 5, 1941 in Jackson,
Missouri; four children, Harold Leon (Mary) McLin of Zion,
Garry A. (Shirley) McLin of Baker City, Oregon, George D.
McLin of Des Plaines, Illinois and Bernard
"Barney" (Debbie) McLin of Spring Grove, Illinois;
eight grandchildren, David, Melanie, Marilyn, George,
Crystal, Geoffrey, Skyler and Megan; four great
grandchildren, Christine, Aaron, Justin and Faith; two
sisters, Betty Stanley of Carbondale, Illinois and Maxine
Rogers, who was like a sister to Flora, also of Carbondale.
She was preceded in death by her father
and mother, George and Pearl Allen; a brother, George Allen;
and a sister, Awanda Chadwick.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday,
May 22, 2002 at 10:30 AM at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012
Sheridan Road, Zion with Rev. John Wiziarde of Christ
Community Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Milburn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 to 8 PM
at the funeral home where the Women of the Moose will hold
services.
