Betty Shipley

Betty Shipley, age 58, of Route 1, Buncombe, died Monday, July 1, 1985 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
     She was born April 2, 1927 in Johnson County, the daughter of Samuel and Euphemia Adams Gore.

On December 4, 1968 she married Herman C. Shipley at Buncombe. He preceded her in death February 8, 1981.

     Mrs. Shipley is survived by five step-sons, Jim Shipley of Buncombe, William Shipley of San Diego, California, Vern Shipley of Evanston, Donald Shipley of Benton, Ky., and Glenn Shipley of Chicago; two step-daughters, Beverly Barabas of Arlington Heights and Eileen Kurpis of Danville.  
     Also surviving are two brothers, Lavern Gore of Buncombe and Virgil Gore of Danville, one sister, Verneta Shabi of Bloomington, Indiana.

      She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald and a sister, Dorothy.

 She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday July 3, 1985 at 2p.m. at Whitnel Funeral Home, Vienna. Rev. Bill Henard officiated. Burial was in Cypress Masonic Cemetery.
