Claudine Fay Shannon

MURPHYSBORO-Claudine Fay Shannon, 55, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1986, in her home at 1933 Wall St.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro, where she served as co-chair of the social committee and as a primary church school teacher.

Miss Shannon was a member and past secretary-treasurer of Local 418 Printers and Pressman of Murphysboro, and served as secretary to the Western Egyptian Central Labor Council.

She was a member of the Murphysboro Lioness Club.

A daughter of Silas E. and Malindia Anna Crisler Shannon, she was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Levan Township, Jackson County.

Survivors include three sisters, Verna Lee Nobel and Wilma Shannon, both of Murphysboro, and Kathryn Smith, Scottsdale, Ariz.; four brothers, Claude and Kenneth Shannon, Murphysboro, Ernest Shannon, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Henry Shannon, Arnold, Mo.

Her parents preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 11a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro, with burial in the Camp Creek cemetery.

Friends may call at Pettett Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Friday until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Creek Cemetery in Murphsboro or the First Baptist Church in Murphysboro.
