Bertha Templeton

Templeton, Bertha, of Davison, age 104, died Saturday, March 1, 1997 at Kith Haven Convalescent Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 1997 at the Groves Chapel, Hansen Funeral Home, 421 N. Main St., Davison, Rev. Philip C. Olson officiating.

Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL. Family will receive visitors from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial services will be conducted by Ardell Rebekkah Lodge #215 of Davison at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Templeton was born in Makanda, IL on September 3, 1892, the daughter of Benjamin and Annie (Kinney) Underwood. She had been a resident of Davison since 1974, spending some 50 years prior in Colorado. She was joined in marriage to David W. Templeton on July 6, 1912 in Marion, IL and he preceded her in death March 27, 1968.

Bertha was a member of Ardell Rebekkah Lodge #214 of Davison, past Noble Grand Club of Davison, American Legion Auxiliary #85 of Oak Creek, Colorado.

 Surviving are niece, Wanda Lowthian of Davison; nephews, Floyd Ogden, Jr. of Flint, Wendell Ogden of Essexville; several other great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son in 1923; sister, Elva Ogden; brothers, Benjamin Jr. and Dillard Underwood.
