Jacob K. Williamson JACOB WILLIAMSON PASSED AWAY SUNDAY
Jacob K. Williamson, one time resident and large landholder of Levan township, south of Ava, died Sunday morning at his home in Murphysboro, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 9 days. He was ill only three days, though his health had been poorly for several years.
Mr. Williamson was born January 26, 1857, at Oraville, this county, and had resided in Murphysboro since 1923. Mr. Williamson was a retired farmer and held membership in the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro.
Mr. Williamson and Miss Eliza Shannon were united in marriage on November 16, 1879. She survives with the following children: Luther Williamson and Mrs. John Pierson of St. Louis, Leonard Williamson, Samuel Williamson, Mrs. Millie Brouillette and Mrs. Gertrude Levan all of Murphysboro, and Mrs. Irene McBride of La Grange, Illinois, also the following relatives: one sister Mrs. William Pierson, of Murphysboro, and two brothers, John Williamson of Percy, and Pete Williamson of Murphysboro.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Church, southeast of Ava, by Rev. Gardner, pastor of the Murphysboro First Baptist Church. Burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
