John Aurthur Wiley

John A. Wiley died 14 Mar 1899, of cerebro spinal fever, near the old family homestead, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery. He got sick while duck hunting in the bottoms. He was born 10 Aug 1864, in Jonesboro and moved with his parents west of Makanda in August 1860. He joined Oak Grove M.E. Church 1 Jan 1877. He married Maggie E. Applegate on 29 Dec 1880. He left a wife and four children, Charles Wiley, Fannie Wiley, Bessie Wiley, and Arthur Wiley, the oldest 18 years and the youngest 10 years. He also left a mother, four brothers, and two sisters. He was a Mason.
