Dear Grandpa and Grandma
How are you? Well I hope you are all right. I am
well as can be. I have went to school 3 weeks without
missing a day. How is little Nolan? I hope is well by
this time. How is Aunt Leona and Johnny and Uncle Oscar
and Edna Maire and Lela Mae. Bobby said hello to you and
Grandpa and I said the same. I sure will be glad when
you come home. Bobby will be glad too and Mother and daddy
will be glad to. We will all be glad and even Johnny to.
I know Johnny will be glad to see you too. I am having
long division now and it is easy as can be. It is fun to,
I have got a 100 on every paper of long division. Well I
can't think of anything else. Be sure to answer my letter
when you answer Mothers letter please. Lots of love and
kisses by by. Good luck and wishes.
Your grand daughter

Dear Friend,
Oscar--- I thought would write you a few lines
tonight. You have been on my mind very much since
I came back from the funeral. I know you are all torn up
it couldn't be otherwise. Your home is gone. And that puts
a different light on nearly everything else. Oscar, -
you sure have my sympathy and I pray the Lord will heal
the heart, and help you to live to be a Christian man, and
after awhle meet Hattie and have a home that will never be
broken up.

I took dinner with your sister last Sunday.
They were out to our morning services and I
went home with them. They said you were coming
up to Danville before long. If you do you must
not fail to call on us. We will be glad to see you.
Bessie went down home last week. She is coming back
next Monday. Her folks live at Olivet now. This is a fine
place here to work. We are expecting a rain soon. I don't
expect to stay here very long. Am preaching now for the
Congregationalists. They hadn't had a preacher for over a
year. Write me a line Oscar. I would be glad to hear from you.
