Kenneth Harold Flanagan

Ward's Funeral Home

Kenneth Harold Flanagan, age 88, of East Wenatchee, died August 18, 2007 in Wenatchee, WA.
He was born on September 16, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Berthol L. and Minnie P. (Wells)
Flanagan. He was the fourth child in a family of six children. He spent most of his young life
living in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He served in the military during Word War II.

He farmed and worked at the Auto Light while living there. He married Mildred Maxine Greenwalt
in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. After 12 years of marriage, they moved to Kennewick, WA. Then in May, 1973,
they moved to East Wenatchee, WA. From this marriage, four children were born, Sandra Sue,
Anita Kay, Janice Lynn, and Terry Ray. Ken always said he had to come west to get his son because
Terry was born in Washington on Father's Day, whereas all the girls were born in Illinois.

Ken worked as a Millwright on most of the dams along the Columbia and Snake Rivers. He retired
in 1982. Ken and Maxine loved to either build homes from scratch or buy them and remodel them,
working side by side.

On August 22, 1972, Ken was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served faithfully to his
death. He prided himself in always being honest and helping anyone who had a need.

He lost his beloved wife, Maxine, just three months before their 50th Wedding Anniversary. After
the death of Maxine, Ken met and married Mary Jane Wilson on June 28, 1997.

Ken is survived by his present wife, Mary Jane of the family home; his children, daughters,
Sandy S. Fox; Anita K. Flanagan, both of Kennewick, WA; and Janice L. (Randy) Vickery; son,
Terry R. (Leah) Flanagan, both of East Wenatchee, WA; one brother, Claude (Mary Margaret) Flanagan;
one sister, Leila (William) Cox, both of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine; both of his parents;
two brothers, Onis (Virginia) Flanagan and Orville (Thelma) Flanagan; and one sister,
Oneta (Joe) Dixon.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1321 Methow Ave, Wenatchee, WA, with Mr. Cam McNeill officiating.
Family graveside services will be held at The Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee, WA.

Arrangements are made by Ward's Funeral Chapel of Leavenworth.
