Nina Ruth Simon
SIMON, Nina Ruth - Of Flint, age 84, died Saturday, June 5, 1999 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, June 11, 1999 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road, Reverend Gavin Raath officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Visitation 1-4 and 6-9PM Wednesday and Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Simon was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on February 15, 1915, the daughter of John and Ina (Leonard) Redburn and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. She married Dale C. Simon on December 14, 1935 in Holly and he preceded her in death in October, 1972. Mrs. Simon was a very active church member for over 60 years at the Central Church of the Nazarene. She was organist and pianist at the church, a member of the choir, Missionary Society, a Sunday school teacher and a Board member for many years. She loved to sew, cook and enjoyed gardening. Later in life she enjoyed her quiet time at home. Surviving are her son, Gareth (Gary) and wife Lenn Simon of Corunna; daughter, Cheryl and husband Charles Fay of Zephyrhills, Florida; grandchildren, Gregory and wife Tamara Simon, Lynette and husband Blayne Herriman, Gennifer Simon, Tredd W. and wife Christi Morris, Tadd W. Morris, Amme Raleigh, Timothy and wife Shelley Fay, Tracey Morrow, Charles Fay, Curt Fay and Dale Fay; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Edith Anthony and brother, Leonard Reburn. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Art Redburn and sister, Lucille Hobson.
