State Approves $50,000 Park in Jersey County
Springfield, Nov. 10 - (AP), Governor Emmerson today approved plans for creating a new state park out of 2,000 acres bordering the Illinois River in Jersey County. Joe Page of Jerseyville and John D. McAdams of Alton, members of the local committee which obtained the $25,000 in subscriptions to the new park project, conferred with the governor today. The state will pay the remaining $25,000, according to the plan, out of the fund established by the legislature for acquisition of state parks.

Purchased Park Lands, Springfield, May 18, -- (AP)
Governor Emmerson announced today the purchase by the state of land in Jersey County near Grafton for development into a 1,600 acre state park.
