- Farmer; Sec. 22; P. O. Scales Mound.. Born in Cornwall, England April 154, 1815. Married Elizabeth Rogers in 1835. She was born in Cornwall in 1810. Came to this County in 1846. Have seven children living: Thos. R., Elizabeth J., Mary, John, Grace, Priscilla and William; lost one son (died at sea) in 1846 and another in 1847. Mr. J. was Commissioner of highways three years, Overseer ten years, School Treasurer three years; is School Director now, a position he has held for 24 years. Mrs. J. died Oct. 22, 1853. Afterward married Grace Jenkins in August 1854. She was born in Cornwall, England Aug. 23, 1813. Owns 120 acres of land. Belong to the M. E. Church; Republican.
