Francis Varing's land was located at E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Sec 2, Township 28 N, Range 2-E, Jo Daviess Co, IL.
I think the cemetery may be on this land. A Keenan married one of the Varing daughters.
The first time we visited the cemetery was about 1957. I seemed to recall there was a wall around the graves at that time. When we went back in 1986 we had trouble locating the cemetery because the nearby road had been changed. We finally found the location and as I recall as we were going up the hill there were ruins of a rock foundation of a house--I believe that was the Keenan house that burned long ago.
While we were walking up the hill we had to step over or crouch under some fencing material--possibly barbed wire. The cemetery was top of the hill as I recall. There were a lot of trees on the hill at that time
