MARRIAGES

UNION OF HAPPY HEARTS -
STEPHEN ROWAN JEFFERS AND MISS MARY ELIZABETH FARWELL
UNITED IN MARRIAGE LAST EVENING
The home of S. M. Farwell and wife was the scene of an interesting event last evening when their daughter, MARY ELIZABETH, was united in marriage to Mr. STEPHEN ROWAN JEFFERS - Miss Ester Marcroft started the wedding march promptly at the apointed hour and shortly the bride and groom appeared unattended. The bride was attired in a pure white gown, bewitchingly made, which gave a pleasing effect to her dark beauty. No comlier bride could be imagined. The groom attired in the fitting and customary black. The words which made the young couple man and wife were pronounced in an impressive manner by the Rev. J. H. Burma.
The ceremony was witnessed only by the near relatives of the contracting parties and a few very close friends. Immediately after the ceremony, the happy couple received the earnest and hearty congratulations of the guests. After this, they was was lead to the dining room where an elegant wedding repast had been prepared to which all did ample justice.
Soon afterward, the band came up and serenaded Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers and were invited in to partake of the wedding feast. The affair passed off in a pleasant manner and a more auspicious event could not be arranged.
The young people are both among Hanover's best and most loved young people.
STEPHEN R. JEFFERS is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE JEFFERS and was born and reared to manhood in Hanover. Everyone knows and likes him. He is a young man who commands the respect and confidence of all and one in whom all are interested. He has been studying law and has just completed his course and has a bright future before him.
MISS LIBBIE FARWELL has always been known as one of Hanover's handsomest and best young ladies. She is the daughter of S. M. FARWELL and wife and has lived here for the past nine years. Her friends are legion, as she is the kind of a young lady who makes friends by her sweet and happy disposition. Stephen is certainly to be congratulated on the prize he has won.
Both of the young people have hosts of friends here who will wish them all joy and happiness in their married life. They drove to Savanna shortly after the ceremony where they took the early Milwaukee train for Chicago, and from there they will go on east on their wedding tour. We have not learned of their future intentions, but wherever they go or whatever they do, they will have the best wishes of their hosts of friends here. Again, we congratulate, and that most heartily.
