BLANCHE W. EDGE , 92, of Scales Mound, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Lafayette Manor, Darlington, Wis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, with Pastor Marilyn Nolan officiating. Burial will be in Scales Mound Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Blanche was born on Nov. 19, 1915, in Council Hill, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Florence (Haser) Edge. She grew up on the farm and later moved to Scales Mound, where she was a telephone operator for a number of years. She was a lifelong member of the Scales Mound United Methodist Church. Surviving are cousins.

CARLYLE EVERSOLL , 86, of Schapville, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Presbyterian Church, Schapville, with the Rev. Bonnie Davies and the Rev. Dave Davies officiating. Burial will be in Schapville Zion Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, where there will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. He was born on Aug. 24, 1914, in Schapville, son of John and Lavina (Winter) Eversoll. He married Marie E. Grebner on Nov. 23, 1938, at The Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa; she died June 10, 1989. He was the owner and operator of the Schapville Garage for 55 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was also a member of the Apple River Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Freeport, and past patron of the Stockton Eastern Star and a charter member of the Stateline Bee Keepers Association. He was a member of the National Trapper's Association, Fur Takers of America and Illinois Trappers Association. He enjoyed several hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, traveling and reading. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou (Gary) Frank, of Stockton; two granddaughters, Rebecca (Jeff) Thomas and Sue (Rick) Reed; a grandson, Gregory (Penny) Frank; and seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Tyler, and Sarah Thomas, Aaron and Dustan Reed and Kaitlin and Alexandra Frank. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.
